Local SIM card seller HK Asia (1723) made another Bitcoin purchase in just a week after the first one that sent its shares double.
HK Asia, a wholesaler and retailer of prepaid SIM cards and value-added coupons for Indonesian and Filipino customers in Hong Kong, disclosed on Sunday that it bought about 7.88 units of Bitcoin on an open market cryptocurrency exchange platform at an aggregate consideration of US$761,705 (HK$5.94 million).
After announcing its first Bitcoin purchase on February 16, the stock price surged by over 90 percent the following day, and it had risen more than 120 percent within a week to close at HK$6.29 last Friday.
The company holds approximately 8.88 units of Bitcoin with an average cost of HK$756,210.
Bitcoin stood at US$96,247 apiece at 7.23pm on Sunday in Hong Kong.
