Hong Kong stocks saw a slight rebound at noon following a steep decline after the opening on Monday, boosted by mainland insurance and property shares.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index ended the morning at 23,348 points, 0.55 percent or 129 points lower, after dropping to as low as 23,221 points.
The half-day main board turnover amounted to HK$231.16 billion.
The tech gauge dropped by 1.4 percent, posting 5,774 points by midday.
