Hong Kong stocks fell slightly on Monday after an impressive rally on Friday as mainland markets retreated.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index closed 0.58 percent or 136 points lower at 23,341 points, with a turnover of HK$356 billion.
The tech index fell 1.19 percent to 5,789 points. Tencent (0700) declined 3.83 percent to HK$497.2 and Alibaba (9988) lost over 2 percent.
Biotech shares also dropped with WuXi Biologics (2269) down by 9.04 percent and WuXi AppTec (2359) falling 10.14 percent.
