Fully paperless MPF transactions on the horizon

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority aims to achieve fully paperless transactions through the eMPF platform, according to chairman Ayesha Macpherson Lau.

Lau said during a symposium that since the launch of the eMPF platform in June, five trustees have joined and two-thirds of transactions are now being processed electronically, in contrast to the large amounts of paper involved if they were done before.

She also highlighted the increasing frequency of extreme weather events and emphasized the need to assess their long-term impact on MPF investments.

Lau said the MPFA has established principles for sustainable investment and instructed MPF scheme providers to enhance disclosure standards for environmental, social and governance funds.
